Día cero

Leaks in the city

Light and sound installation · 2024

About a hundred stacked buckets lit from inside with blue light in an industrial hall; a person walks past

Not a single drop of water. Only light and sound.

The piece was installed at Laguna, a former textile factory in Colonia Doctores and a venue of Mextrópoli 2024.

Mexico City loses a huge share of its drinking water to visible and hidden leaks. The title refers to “day zero”, the moment a city runs out of running water.

About a hundred buckets form a corner full of leaks. There is not a single drop of water: the dripping comes from blue light, sound design and a control system.
